Celebrate Veterans Day All Week

Hardin-Simmons University is celebrating Veterans Day with multiple FREE events throughout the week. All in the community are invited to attend.

Monday, November 6, 2023, 7:30 p.m. The Concert Band will present its annual Fall Concert in Behrens Auditorium (#10 on the campus map). The theme of the Concert Band’s performance is “Heroes – Recognized or Silent.”

Thursday, November 9, 2023, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  The HSU Social Work Club and Concerned Veterans for America will host a luncheon in the Houston Lantrip Center (#27 on the campus map). Jessica Villareal, CVA representative and Veteran, will be the keynote speaker.

Concerned Veterans for America is a national organization focused on education and advocacy in all Veteran affairs.

Friday, November 10, 2023, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The HSU Social Work Club has partnered with Concerned Veterans for America and Grassroots Leadership Academy to host the second Advocacy Bootcamp in Abilene, providing a wealth of meaningful and engaging information and conversation about advocacy work.

Grassroots Leadership Academy is a national organization whose primary focus is on the education and implementation of grassroots advocacy opportunities and awareness for individuals, students, educators, and professionals across the nation for social issues.
